Find Him On "The Happy Hour" on a Monday evening from 7pm & on Saturday for his lunchtime show from 12 noon till 2pm where you will hear 2 hours of uplifting tunes to get your weekend started including his One Hit Wonder at One!

She is also our demos gal & has met a multitude of 'A' List celebs such as Bon Jovi & Bryan Adams.

Join Russell Rushton every Sunday lunchtime for Russell's Rendezvous - The Sound of the 70s! from 12 noon to 2pm for a musical journey through the the years 1970 - 1979.

 

Discover songs or be remined of songs you had maybe forgotten accompanied by engaging chat. 

Tune in for Poets Corner and Recipe of the Day.

Russell also shines a spotlight on local community groups and events, encouraging listeners to get involved.

Will Madden

Volunteer / Presenter

Join new presenter Will Madden as he takes you on a journey into sound with his show featuring an eclectic range of music taken from both home and abroad. If you wish to discover some new music, then this could be the show for you!

Will imparts his music knowledge from his time running Smithfield Records in Leek as he shares his passion for the music he plays.

Will will present on Sundays at 4pm until 7pm starting from 29th June.

Jemma Wentworth

Volunteer / Presenter

Jemma  is a Chartered Legal Executive specialising in all aspects of family law.

 

As a result of over 20 years in practice, Jemma has vast experience and expertise in the wide-ranging area that is Children Act applications as well as specific issue and prohibited steps applications.

In addition, complex relocation cases of an international capacity.

 

Jemma can also help and give advice upon the divorce process and guidance with the online divorce portal and advising upon finances after separation, in particular, who gets to stay in the former matrimonial home alongside dealing with the ongoing legal ownership.

 

Jemma is really pleased to be able to share with the Leek community her knowledge that will assist you with these difficulties, as well as giving you some great music along the way. 

 

With being Leek born and bred, giving back to the community is really important to her.

 

Tune in to her Family Law Clinic at 11am on the 1st Friday of the month to find out more and please share any information to those that may need it.

Alex Beverley

Founder 

Alex founded Leek Radio back In 2020.

After many years of broadcasting as a hobby & working / volunteering at other radio stations, he decided to start a brand new station with the local community in mind...

Alex still provides technical support to the station amongst other things behind the scenes.

Although he is no longer a Director, he still gives his time to the good of the community he supported for many years.

 

As the founder of Leek Radio, we felt he deserves his place on the 'Meet the Team' wall

Gary Curzon

Tune in to his show "Indie Tuesday" every Tuesday evening from 8pm until 10pm for the best in Indie and Alternative music featuring indie classics and brand new music from emerging artists. 

If you want to hear the best in indie and alternative music from the late 70's right up to new releases and even pre releases, then this is the show for you!

Gary is also keen to promote local indie bands by championing their music as well as having them into the studio for live interview.

You will always find Gary at a gig somewhere!

Derek Walker

Derek Walker also known as "The Rocket Man" due to his prior career as a Rocket Scientist.

 

Derek knows how to swing that thang!

 

You can tune into his "Jazz, Big Band & Swing" shows on Sunday evenings between 7pm - 9pm.

Also, this show is repeated the following Thursday at 6pm in case you missed it the first time around.

 

Derek also presents Derek on the Decks, his Tuesday show from 10am - Noon which may be a pre record but then he goes live from Noon to 2pm where he will delight you with stories, anecdotes and interviews and a musical accompaniment including mixing up the genres to give you a taster of things you may not have heard before or remind of a style you used to like 'back in the day'!

Stu Patrick

Stu is new to Leek Radio but is no stranger to being 'on mic' with his musical partner in the 'Minstrels of Mischief' where you will find him on stage most weekends in and around the area.

You can also find them on Spotify!

Stu hosts 'A Word with Stu' each Friday from 3pm - 5pm where each week he picks the next letter of the alphabet and uses a keyword beginning with that letter and provides music and anecdotes to match!

Once he reaches Z, he starts again from A with a new word!

Doug is looking forward to Sharing his love of 'metal'!

Metal Moods is on a Wednesday evening from 7pm Til 10pm

So if you like classic heavy metal or enjoy hearing new and emerging artists in this genre then this is the show for you!

Josh Clowes

Volunteer / Presenter

Listen to Josh on a Friday evening from 7pm to 8.30pm each week to listen to and join in with his 'Guess the Year ' show.

 

Each show, Josh chooses music from a particular year, gives you some clues by naming some events that happened in that year and invites you message him live with your guesses!

Jonny Gosling

Local lad Jonny Gosling joins the Team in the first week of September for a new Thursday night 2 hour show from 8pm here on Leek Radio!

His musical taste spans across many genres so there is sure to be something for everyone!!

Join Jonny aka KindmanRalph (check out his social media for details) as he embarks on his presenting journey.

That being said, he is no stranger to the world of music, playing in local band 'Hotel Cola' (as played and interviewed on Leek Radio (Indie Tuesday - Listen Again is available if you wish to hear that once more), another band called Sugarglass and even has time for a Blondie covers band called Lovers HiFi!

Paul Oldfield

Paul Oldfield has been messing around in radio since the 1990s!

 

Beginning at Forward Hospital Radio in 1995, and through out the intervening years

regular slots on four other local radio stations.

 

Presenting Afternoon programmes, Local Music programmes, Evening Talk programmes, Lunch Time programmes and Music Archive Programmes.

 

He presents 'Paul Oldfield's Afternoon Club'  2pm till 4pm weekday afternoon's Monday to Thursday. Which includes a live 'China Cup of Tea at 3'! There is also a chance to learn some 'Actual French',  with a phrase a day to help you with those occasional trips abroad!

 

Plus: 'Paul Oldfield's Hook & Groove' on Friday evenings 5 till 7pm! Two hours of upbeat catchy tunes, at least one of which you will find difficult to get out of your head for days afterwards!

Breakfast Show Presenter

After some 30 years of presenting on various radio stations, from pirate radio, to hospital radio, local community radio and many different live events over the years, he now presents his own breakfast show each morning called "Marley in the Morning"

 

It's 3 hours of "feel good" music every weekday morning from 7am to 10am here on Leek Radio.
