Officers investigate suspicious incident...

Officers are investigating a suspicious incident that saw a mother and a child being shouted at by individuals in a van in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called at 11.40am on Tuesday (25 April) to Chell Heath Road.

A woman reported that she was walking with her child when a man and a female passenger pulled up in a white Citreon Relay van, with a logo, though the vehicle is unrelated to a business.

The male driver spoke to the woman, asking her for the time, before saying that the child was his.

There was no physical contact between the individuals in the van and the mother and child.

The mother and child left the scene on foot to a place of safety.

They were left shaken but unhurt in the incident.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time and are conducting local patrols to reassure the community.
