Local Lady "Jocelyn" To Cycle 1000 Miles In Support Of Leek Radio's Community Projects

Jocelyn Granger, a 61-year-young local lady, is cycling 1000 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats to raise funds for Leek Radio CIC & Their Community Projects which are dedicated to assisting the community through the cost of living and energy cost crisis. Her dedication to this cause is truly inspiring.

Jocelyn is an amazing example of someone who refuses to slow down with age. As she puts it,

"They say that you slow down and take it easier as you get older. 'They' obviously don't know me!"

Her spirit and determination are truly remarkable, and her efforts on behalf of Leek Radio CIC are a testament to her selflessness and compassion.

Leek Radio CIC would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Jocelyn for her amazing efforts. Her dedication to raising funds for our cause is truly inspiring, and we are honored to have her as part of our community. We would like to thank her for her generosity and for all that she is doing to help those in need.

As Jocelyn cycles through the beautiful countryside, she is not only raising funds for Leek Radio, but also raising awareness of the struggles that so many in our community are facing. The cost of living and energy cost crisis are real issues that affect countless people, and Jocelyn's efforts are helping to bring attention to these important problems.

We hope that Jocelyn's example will inspire others to get involved and help us in our mission to assist those in need. We believe that together, we can make a difference and ensure that no one has to choose between heating and eating.

The Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle tour (LEJOG) has been on her bucket list for a long time and 2023 is the year it’s going to happen; 3rd – 18th June to be exact. She'll joining a small group of other cyclists on an escorted tour and will be cycling just under 1000 miles over 2 weeks with an average mileage of 72 miles per day.

The shortest LEJOG route is 874 miles but where possible their route follows quiet country lanes and cycleways which will be much more enjoyable.

The fastest completion is 43 hrs 25 mins 13 secs 😊. There will be hills; we are warned. I live on the wild Staffordshire Moorlands in the Peak District so hills don’t worry me. It’ll be tough, we are told. Life is tough; it’s how you live it that matters and I’ve tackled a fair share of challenges during my 61 years – some planned and some not.
As this is such an epic undertaking (and I’ve taken part in some amazing events over the years), I’ve decided to try and raise some funds for a local project at the same time so I hope you’ll be inspired and feel able to support me by making a donation.
